The product
Yamwanza is the App that belongs the a catering company located in the city of Luanda in the Republic of Angola.
Yamwanza strives to offer a diverse range of food menus from assorted starters, meat dishes, fish dishes, desserts, and healthy and special side dishes. They offer a wide spectrum of competitive pricing.

Yamwanza targets customers who are going to have birthdays, weddings, banquets and more who don't have the time or ability to prepare food for festive events and even various groups of people.
It should be noted that this service must be ordered in advance.

05 th January 2022 to 02 July 2022
The problem
People who will be hosting very busy events and don't have the time to prepare meals for many people.
The Goal
Create an app for Yamwanza that allows users to easily order and receive a menu of fresh, healthy dishes..
My role
Lead UX designer designing an app for Yamwanza from conception to delivery.
My responsabilities
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

USER RESEARCH SUMMARY
I understood that design involves a lot of interaction and compression about the needs and constraint of the end user of the product.
I did Interviews, surveys, competitive audit and usability studies.
I did foundational research to answers the question, "What should we build?"
I couldn't ask during this research phase are, "What are the user problems?"How can we solve them?
" As the foundational research goal is to help define the problem I would like to design a solution for.
This research included talking with users and identifying their pain points when using a product.
The goal of design research is to inform how the product should be built.
Design research gave me a chance to reduce the problems that occur as users interact with my prototype.
I could conduct design research very early in the design process when have paper sketches, o i can wait until I have a prototype to test with users. It just depends on what your key research goals are.
USER RESEARCH PAIN POINTS

Alleviating the worries of wedding planning agencies' clients to find an app that offers them wedding menu services efficiently and professionally, based on a previous order for the service.

Persona - Lucas

Problem statement
Lucas has 45 years old. Lawyer Manager of event management , lives in Lisbon with his wife who needs needs a efficiente app to order Catering Menu for wedding venues, because her agency needs give this service for his Agency.
Persona - Samara

Samarahas 27 years old. Fahion Designer , lives in Lisbon ,shes is single. She needs an efficient app to order Catering Menu for wedding venues, because her customers asks her help on that issue.

Taking the time to draft iterations of each screen of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points.

For the home screen, I prioritized a quick and easy ordering process to help users save time.

As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.

Easy navigation was a key user need to address in the designs in addition to equipping the app to work with assistive technologies.
Easy access to navigation that is reader friendly.

LOW FIDELITY PROTOTYPE
3- Low fidelity prototype

Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype.
The primary user flow I connected was building and ordering a Menu, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.
USABILITY STUDIES
Usability Study - Findings
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.
ROUND 1
It was observed that 2 out of 5 Participants were confused to edit the user profile.
This means that they need a help page to guide them.
It was observed that 2 out of 5 Participants had trouble find the seetings page.
This means that most users were unsure where to the settings page of the app
ROUND 2
It was observed that 1 out of 5 Participants had a hard time knowing what to do to open the app try selecting a new "Food" menu first to order a menu.
This means that for most users, it’s not immediately clear how menu Selection .

The second usability study revealed frustration with:
1.Data, time and address to choose the delivery details of the menu
2.New user and signed users
3. The checkout flow

To streamline this flow , created:
1.A sign up and sign options.
2.Add chart screen
3.Created a calendar a watch address field with dropdown arrow
4.I created a order summary with details
5.I created a screen with credit card for payments

2-High-Low fidelity prototype
The final high—fidelity prototype presented cleaner user flows for the ordering a menu.
It also meet users need for a order and delivery option as well as more customization.

ACCESSIBILITY CONSIDERATIONS
ROUND 1
Provided access to users who are vision impaired through adding alt text to images for screen readers.
ROUND 2
Used icons to help make navigation easier.
ROUND 3
Used detailed imagery for pizzas and toppings to help all users better understand the designs.

THE IMPACT
​The app makes users feel that Yamwanza really thinks about how to meet their needs.

WHAT I LEARNED
When designing the Yamwanza Menu app, I learned that the first ideas for the app are just the beginning of the process.Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app's designs

Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.​
Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.
